Abstract Background: Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) is the leading cause of valve disease in developing countries, with intracardiac thrombus events as one of the frequent manifestations. Based on Trias Virchow, a thrombus occurs because of endothelial injury, blood flow abnormality, and hypercoagulability.
