Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is a rare cause of acute coronary syndrome (ACS).– It usually affects young women with no risk factors for coronary disease.,–
The real incidence of this disease in the population in general is unknown.,– However, as has been observed in more recent studies, the prevalence of SCAD has increased due to the growth in the use of coronary angiography (from 0.2% to 4%).
